Filthy language

Nowadays the overall cultural level of people is extremely low and it continues to fall. It happens owing to many different factors. Today television, radio, journals and newspapers propagate lowbrow style of life and persuade people that it is fashionable. The majority of people observes behavioural patterns of famous people, including actors, politicians and other public figures and follow their example. And what about famous people? They are well-known and are in the public eye, but it doesn't prevent them from establishing bad patterns and propagate them among ordinary people. This leads to serious negative consequences, which are clearly seen today.

People always tried to assert themselves, but a few centuries ago they wanted to look better than they were in reality and now many of us want to look worse for the same purpose. It is especially evident among teenagers. Today a teenager in order to be respected by his/her peers pretends to be a bad guy or girl for the purpose of self-affirmation. They do it by means of different things: bad conduct, humiliation of shy and weak classmates and using of swearwords in their speech.

Foul expressions have become the main means of self-affirmation for youngsters. They use these words easily and pay no attention to other people. They can oath in older people presence, in talks with elders and so on.

Swearwords carry a strong negative meaning and affect people who use them subconsciously. They make people ruder, more irritable and make their general attitude to life more negative. It leads to misunderstanding with peers, classmates, teachers, etc. If a young man isn't prohibited to use these words by his/her parents and teachers, he/she follows this habit all his/her life. Experience shows that it is practically impossible to get rid of it for an adult. Only strong will or faith can improve the situation. Weak willed people are mostly unable to cope with themselves and often can't control their speech. Then they are surprised when their own children use these words in conversations. Our children often reflect our moral and cultural level and we are often ashamed of ourselves when we understand that it is our bad influence that spoils them most of all. Let this sense of shame and guilt be our last hope to improve ourselves and become better people.
