Picking one's nose

Many civilized and even uncultured people consider picking one's nose to be a baneful addiction. When a person pick's his/her nose your first impression about him/her is likely to be negative. You make conclusions about his/her bad manners, lack of culture, etc. Indeed, it looks unattractively and provokes negative attitude to a person. Especially it is shocking when you observe a famous and respected person doing this. We are accustomed to think that respected people should be an example for imitation and are very disappointed when a respected person behaves opposite to the established stereotype. We consider this pernicious habit to be a result of ill breeding, and extrapolate it to the whole image of a person. It is often very hard for us to respect a person who picks his/her nose.

At first blush this habit seems absolutely senseless and tells about the low intellectual level of a person. But it is a superficial pint of view. In fact, this is a very meaningful habit and has serious grounds.

Picking one's nose is the best prevention from attention distraction. When a person does it, he/she reaches the optimal concentration, and this is the best training for one's attention.

Picking one's nose also contributes to the development and maintenance of intelligence.

The positive effect of picking one's nose includes:

1. The development of basic muscles of the forefinger.

2. Development of attention.

3. Development of motility.

4. Development of the core functions of the brain.

It turns out that this habit is also useful for one's nose. The mucous membrane of human nose is rich in all kinds of receptors. Their stimulation can have a positive effect on many functions of the body. Picking one's nose can help to get rid of the flu or cold very quickly. Stimulation of receptors located in the nose, helps the body to fight colds effectively. All this, of course, it doesn't mean that this habit is no longer considered to be bad. All mentioned advantages of this habit don't mean that you should practice it in public. It looks very indecent indeed. If you can't but do it, you'd better do it at home or in a place, where nobody can see it.
